Sponsor a Roti (Bread) Making Machine
The Akshaya Patra Foundation serves mid-day meals to school children in government and government-aided schools of India.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation operates in 55 centralized kitchens across 13 States & 1 Union Territory of India. Centralised kitchens are large kitchen units that have the capacity to typically cook up to 100,000 meals. These kitchens serve a set of schools located around the unit. They are automated and thus ensure hygiene during the cooking process.
Roti or Indian flatbread is a staple food in North India, and as a principle, they prepare fresh food each day for the children. In order to automate the preparation of Rotis, The Akshaya Patra Foundation uses indigenous roti-making machines, which can more than 6000 rotis in an hour. The state-of-the-art machine is a part of the North Indian kitchen since wheat-based food is prevalent there just like rice is the staple diet in South India.
There is always a need for more such machines to help make more Rotis for the mid-day meals.
