Help Moldova to care for ukrainian children
The existing crisis in Ukraine due to the Russian invasion, has led around 300,000 people to flee to Moldova, neighboring Ukraine. Out of this, some 100,000 are still in Moldova, mostly living in 20 centers, and about 50% of these refugees are minors. They need access to school/education and psychological help.
Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe and it certainly needs resources to cope up with this new situation. Dr. h.c. Nik Gugger, Swiss Member of Parliament, who is also the ambassador of this crowd funding project has personally visited Moldova in June 2021 as an election observer from the Swiss parliamentary foreign commission, and later for a social welfare and entrepreneurial initiative. His personal meeting with the Ambassador of Moldova to Geneva recently affirmed this need, welcoming any support.
The funds of minimum 6000 CHF collected in this platform will be used mainly for the needs of the Ukranian refugees in 7 shelters run by the Swiss non-profit organization “Licht im Osten” that has its presence in Moldova for many years running social welfare programs for those in need. Especially, children, which travel alone will be given protection.
Thanks for joining hands in bringing hope to someone who had to leave behind everything and take shelter in a refugee camp in another country!
